On-Call firefighting can be for anyone, it could be the ideal job for someone who now works from home, a parent who needs flexible working hours, someone with some spare time, is unemployed or even someone in full-time employment. If you would like to be an On-Call Firefighter you must live or work within five minutes travel from the fire station you will be based at. The job involves a number of hours where you must be available for call outs via a pager. We are looking for dedicated and committed people to deliver modern fire and rescue services within your local community. Join us at this exciting time and we will provide you with a high level of training and a chance to be part of a professional team.
The essential requirements

There is a requirement to attend a weekly training drill session for at least two hours at your local fire station.
On-call Firefighters receive a basic salary and are paid extra for any call out’s, training courses, drill periods.
On average you could earn between £5000 and £8000 per year.

If successful in all assessments and pre-employment checks completed, you will be expected to attend the initial recruit training course on the following dates:
