If you would like to be an On-Call Firefighter, you must be able to respond to your Fire Station within five minutes. However, if you can work remotely for your full-time employer, then you could work from ANY of our 12 On-Call Fire Stations.
The role involves a number of hours of flexible On-Call cover, where you must be available to attend emergencies via a pager. We will provide you with a high level of training and a chance to be part of a professional team.
On-Call Firefighters are not always based at Fire Stations, they usually live or work in the local community
The essential requirements
The Role On-Call Firefighters do the same emergency work as Wholetime Firefighters, but they can also have other jobs too. While on duty, they carry a pager, which activates when they need to attend an incident.
On-call Firefighters receive a basic salary and are paid extra for any call out’s, training courses, drill sessions.
On average you could earn between £5000 and £8000 per year. For further information about the role please click here.
