About Us
The Pensions Service is responsible for managing the LGPS and the outsourced Firefighters’ Pension Scheme. We are a close-knit, committed and enthusiastic team who take pride in providing excellent services to our members, committees and wider stakeholders. Our intention is to go beyond the regulatory requirements to deliver best practice wherever possible, and this is where we need your help.
About the Role
This role is part of a team of professionals servicing approximately 200 employers, 50,000 members and managing investment assets of over £2.5bn. We care about members receiving their pension benefits on time and in full. Whilst Warwickshire County Council is the Administrating Authority, this part of the team is staffed by 4 individuals and managed by a Pensions and Investment Manager. This small team allows good access to training, awareness of work done elsewhere and membership of the national network of pension fund officers.
As our successful candidate, you will have excellent communication skills and an ability to build good rapport with stakeholders. You will use your sound grasp of the LGPS, and potentially the Firefighters’ Pension Scheme, to help the Pensions Service, committees and boards meet their governance and regulatory requirements. You will be comfortable writing and presenting reports with a willingness to help others understand the implications of policy changes.
Your rewards
Warwickshire is famous the world over as Shakespeare’s county, but that’s only half the story. We’re also one of the UK’s fastest-growing commercial regions, creating exciting opportunities for everyone who lives and works here. Be part of our collaborative, innovative culture and we’ll empower you to bring ideas for new ways of working, to help keep improving the services we provide. In return we offer plenty of training and development opportunities, to help you keep growing in your role. And, because your long-term wellbeing is just as important to us as your ambition, we’ll support you with a great work/life balance enhanced by a generous holiday allowance and access to the desirable Local Government contributory pension scheme.
