Contract and Projects Manager, Economy and Skills
22.2 hours per week
Fixed term contract until August 2020
About Us
Warwickshire County Council is committed to supporting economic growth and ensuring that our residents have access to jobs and training. The Economy and Skills Group includes the County Council's economic research and analysis (Warwickshire
Economics), business support, inward investment and strategic employment & skills functions. We also lead on relationships with agencies such as Jobcentre Plus and external funders, and manage projects and programmes on behalf of other WCC services.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced project manager to manage an employment support programme funded by the European Social Fund. You will be the lead contact for the Department for Work &Pensions and be responsible for contract compliance and preparing funding claims.
You will also work with the external and internal delivery teams - Warwickshire Mental Health Employment Support Service and the Warwickshire Youth Justice Service - to monitor and report on the project's outputs and outcomes. You will also get the opportunity to spend time working on - and supporting and advising- other employment and skills projects.
Key Requirements
You should have excellent project management and financial management skills. This will include strong communication skills and the interpersonal skills required to work effectively with a range of partners and customers. You should also have experience of employment support or other similar programmes and knowledge of the European Social Fund.
