About us:
We are the Financial Assessment & Benefits Advice team based in Kings House, Bedworth. This is a busy team undertaking financial assessments to calculate charges for customers receiving care services following council policies and Government guidance. In addition we provide welfare benefits advice and information to customers, helping them to maximise their income and be aware of help available.
About the role:
We are looking for a Financial Assessment Visiting Officer to join us. You will be part of a busy team completing financial assessments to calculate charges for customers receiving care services and providing benefits advice to maximise customer income.
The role involves collecting customer financial details, calculating care charges based on Government guidance, regulations and Council policies as well as providing advice and information. You will be doing this usually by contacting customers by telephone, in writing and at times you will travel around Warwickshire meeting customers face to face in their own homes.
Key requirements:
As you will be working with a variety of stakeholders, it is important you have strong analytical and communication skills, both written and verbal. You need to be able to work on your own initiative as well as collaboratively with customers, families, colleagues and other representatives.
You will have the ability to work to deadlines, sometimes under pressure, whilst at all times maintaining your composure and your professional manner.
You will be used to making decisions, obtaining information from customers and giving consistent and clear advice. You will also have experience using computer systems to obtain and record customer information.
