The RoleWe are looking for men and women to join the teams of firefighters in Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service. With excellent rates of pay for training and emergency call outs, plus an annual retaining fee, although it is a demanding role and requires commitment, it can be very rewarding. Salary - You will receive an annual retaining fee (paid monthly) on call disturbance fees and hourly rates for work undertaken, training session fees and four weeks holiday pay per year (rising to five weeks after five years service). The annual retaining fee will depend on the number of hours cover that you can provide. On Call firefighters agree and are contracted to be available for specific hours per week, which may include nights and weekend work. They carry a pager and must be able to get to the fire station safely within five minutes of a call during their available hours. Some on-call firefighters choose to be contacted and respond to emergency calls from work and once their pager goes off they respond to the station to deal with the incident. On Call firefighters agree to provide a regular amount of cover each week during which they are available to respond to the fire station when called. The amount of cover provided can vary between 40 and 120 hours per week. When on call and alerted by your pager you will need to stop whatever it is you are doing and report immediately to the fire station.
