Senior Occupational Therapist - Reablement North Team
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Reablement North Team for a Senior Occupational Therapist.
The Reablement service is a county-wide service (North and South Team ) delivered internally by social care staff in Adult Social Care and Support to either facilitate a hospital discharge or to
support a person at home.
The service is delivered to the person in their own home surroundings on a daily basis to enable the person to practice their daily living tasks to maximise their abilities in day to day living and improve quality of life.
As a member of the management team, you will take a lead role in the day to day management and performance of the team against its targets, and in ensuring the delivery of services to adults and carers in accordance with statutory requirements and Departmental policy. To take the lead in developing high quality Occupational Therapy practice and professional development of staff, students and carry a caseload of complex customers.
The primary responsibilities of this post are to manage the therapy input for the customer within the Reablement journey. The aim is to maximise the customer's independence through the intervention of holistic assessment and intervention. You will ensure that service delivery quality and standards are maintained at all times.
You will directly manage Occupational Therapists, Occupational Therapy Assistants, and provide professional support to the Reablement team.
Key Requirements
*
Recognised OT qualification and at least three years post qualified fieldwork experience, including a proven track record of successful adult case and duty work.
*
Have good written and verbal communication skills
*
The ability to manage and prioritise allocation of referrals coming into the service
*
The ability to supervise staff
*
The ability to engage effectively with partners across the health, housing and social care
*
A good knowledge of the legislation underpinning adult social care
*
The ability to lead affectively with a passion that will significantly improve outcomes for customers and carers while maximising choice and control over their lives
*
Have an excellent understanding of assessment and care management

Additional Information
This organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure.
The post holder will be required to work one Saturday every 7 weeks with the possibility of increasing to Sundays depending on the demand of the service.
