Health & Safety Advisor
To work within the WES Safety & Premises Team, provide a cost effective and innovative support service to Schools, aimed at creating safer learning environment by providing advice,support and guidance to Headteachers, Business Managers and Site Managers. This is achieved by undertaking inspections and preparing reports with recommendations for improvement, and providing impartial advice on the implementation of practical safety and security measures.
The successful candidate would be expected to demonstrate their competence in the health and safety discipline and work independently or as part of a team across a range of activities such as, advising managers on health and safety legislation/ WCC policy, auditing, undertaking work place inspections, and carrying out policy research/ development/review. This is an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to advise a diverse occupational group of service. The post is based in Warwick but travel around the County is expected.
We are recruiting for 2 positions.
Key Requirements
We are looking for a candidate who holds the necessary health and safety qualification (NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety) and have the necessary experience to undertake this role in a large, diverse complex organisation. The successful candidate must have good IT skills, excellent communication, the ability to work as part of a team and on their own initiative, be able to work with managers and employees at all levels and have experience in delivering training.For further information please see the Job Description and Person Specification
