About Us and the Role
The Procurement Team are offering an exciting opportunity as a Procurement Officer to assist in the development and delivery of best practice procurement across the Council.
The post will support the realisation of efficiency savings and ensure compliance with all local and national regulation relating to procurement.
The key elements of the role are:
As a Procurement Officer, you will work closely with commissioners and managers across the People Directorate service areas of Children and Families, Adult Social Care, Public Health and Strategy & Commissioning. You will also work closely with other members of the Procurement Team and with the Contract Management and Quality Assurance Team.
This role would suit someone who is capable of working as part of a team but who can work individually, managing their own workload in order to meet the required deadlines. You will need strong interpersonal skills in order to develop relationships with the various teams and then manage their expectations. You will need to be capable of contributing persuasively to discussions and have good communication skills.
We are welcoming applications from candidates with experience in either the public or the private sector bringing in innovative ideas and practice. Public sector knowledge and experience is not a necessary requirement.
