About Us
Heritage & Culture Warwickshire (HCW) manages the Museum, Arts and Archive service for Warwickshire – working across 4 main sites and with partners and organisations across the county. We care for our museum objects and archives, engaging visitors and participants through exhibitions, events and community outreach programmes whilst working strategically with partners to support and develop the heritage and cultural infrastructure of the county.
About the role
We are looking for someone with arts development experience and an interest or experience in creative health practice to take on a fixed term Arts Officer role within HCW’s Development Team.
You will need broad knowledge of arts development practice, experience of working collaboratively with a wide range of partners, and confidence in providing professional advice to support the growth of high-quality arts and cultural opportunities for Warwickshire. You will have experience of initiating, developing and delivering arts projects including recruiting and contracting artists/organisations, sound project management skills, and experience of completing evaluation reports. You will have knowledge of the arts funding system and fundraising in general with experience of seeking grants from a range of sources and writing funding applications alongside good financial management skills.
We are particularly looking for someone with experience in the area of Arts & Health who will be responsible for taking the lead in developing and delivering an Arts and Nature project with a focus on mental health. This project forms part of a wider set of Creative Health programmes and initiatives which promote creative and cultural activities within Warwickshire to improve health and wellbeing and deliver on longer term strategic plans.
Joining us, you are comfortable communicating with a wide range of individuals and organisations and working collaboratively with people from a range of professional specialisms. A good project manager, you understand how to engage with artists and arts organisations and are confident in making the case for the arts in non-arts sectors e.g. public health. You will sit on several working groups within HCW and with external partners and stakeholders across creative health, cultural education and place-making sectors, taking a lead to move forward the arts in Warwickshire and raise our profile regionally and nationally.
