About Us and the Role
We have a temporary Customer Service Assistant post available with Warwickshire Libraries, based at Warwick Library.
Our Customer Services Assistants are the first point of contact for all customers. The post-holders will be an integral part of the team, ensuring a positive experience for customers of all ages. You will need to be able to learn quickly and work proactively and independently to complete day to day tasks and handle customer enquiries following your initial training. You should also be able to share enthusiasm and knowledge of books and reading with all ages.
ICT plays a big role in libraries today so experience of using office packages, the internet and social media is needed to assist our customers when answering enquiries, giving hands on advice and carrying out administrative duties. Confidence to search for and clearly communicate signposting information to customers is also essential.
Working hours across the week will be allocated on a rota basis across all our sites and some flexibility is a bonus, however the standard working hours for this post are Monday – Friday, 10am – 2pm. This post is an initial fixed term contract from January (exact start date dependant on availability and pre-employment checks) and ending 31st March 2023. Subject to the needs of the service, there may be the possibility to extend this.
