About Us and the Role
Warwickshire Legal Services has operated on a business footing for over 20 years and now has over 60 fee earners providing a comprehensive range of services to over 15 public sector clients, including two police forces and a pioneering shared service arrangement with Warwick District Council.
We have a national reputation, recognised in several national awards, including Lawyers in Local Government Legal Team of the Year in 2017 and Governance Team of the Year 2020. We are based in modern offices in a historic building in the middle of Warwick within a short distance of other popular towns like Leamington Spa, Kenilworth and Stratford-upon-Avon and in a central location on road and rail transport networks. As a result of COVID restrictions, staff work almost entirely from home at present but regular attendance at our offices for at least part of the week is likely to resume when restrictions are eased. We offer flexible working arrangements and in return our staff are willing to go the extra mile when our clients need it.
People like to work for us and we have a tradition of growing our own talent through training and development schemes, meaning that we have a low turnover of staff. We are now looking for a Chartered Legal Executive, or a qualified solicitor or barrister to join our team. We are looking for candidates who are first rate lawyers and who solve problems, inspire client confidence and welcome change and challenge.
You will work alongside other property lawyers (including a paralegal) supporting public sector clients with operational, commercial, educational and agricultural portfolios who undertake sometimes complex and major redevelopment and disposal projects as well as academisations, commercial and agricultural lettings, and other property transactions. Some projects will provide opportunities to work with colleagues in other teams specialising in corporate, contract, public, social care, education, planning and highway law.
