Trainee Youth Worker
Two posts - one based in Lillington, Leamington Spa and one in Camp Hill, Nuneaton,
About the role:
Joining our small established team you'll be providing a youth work service to a high professional standard. Managing a caseload of 121 support and delivering group projects, you'll be working with young people who are often vulnerable and challenging in their behaviour. Developing positive relationships and using this to plan and evaluate your work. In addition, you'll be communicating with a wide variety of clients, communities, partners and agencies as well as working on your own initiative, often in pressurised situations.
Key Requirements:
To be successful in this role it's vital you have had previous youth work experience working with young people aged 11 to 18 years. It is important you have strong communication skills both written and verbal and can work on your own initiative as well as collaboratively with individuals, families, carers, communities, colleagues and other agencies. You will need the ability to work in challenging situations focusing on young people whilst at all times maintaining your professionalism. Good IT skills are also required.
To be successful in this post you will also need the relevant qualifications and experience to be selected for the JNC Youth Work Degree Qualification. You will be signposted to a suitable course if selected for this post. You have paid time to attend college enabling you to gain this vital qualification whilst working.
