About Us
There’s more to law than corporates.
Join our award-winning legal service and grow through diverse clients, challenging projects and excellent training opportunities.
At Warwickshire Legal Services, we run a very different kind of in-house legal team.
We have the freedom to practise as our own firm within Warwickshire County Council, generating our own income from internal teams and a diverse pool of public sector clients.
Few councils operate this way, and our approach gives you a unique environment to grow your career. You’ll join an award-winning group of innovative legal professionals and take on a real variety of cases, from property and education to children’s safeguarding and adult social care.
On top of this, you can take advantage of the benefits that come with a non-corporate practice. You’ll see cases through to completion and get more hands-on experience while getting a better work-life balance and greater flexibility.
We’re also dedicated to supporting your development through a wide range of training opportunities, and you’ll be able to learn from a 120-strong team with a true breadth of legal experience.
In short, we are an ambitious, nationally recognised team that wants to deliver consistently outstanding legal work. If you feel the same, we welcome you to join us.
About the Role
You’ll deliver outstanding legal support for all of our public-sector clients across a wide range of work, including company and commercial work, procurement, major projects, information governance and corporate governance.
As a Team Lead in a busy, fully traded service you will need sharp problem-solving skills and the ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure, collaborating with our friendly and supportive team of innovative legal professionals. Experience of marketing, compliance and general business management will be helpful, and you’ll also need to be willing to learn and adapt to the challenging, ever-changing public sector legal environment.
Our people are our greatest resource, and you will have experience of managing, leading and/or mentoring teams in a fast paced environment to bring out the best in people, or be able to demonstrate the skills necessary to rise to the challenge.
In terms of experience, you should be a fully qualified practising solicitor or barrister with a background in employment law (contentious and advisory). An understanding of pensions would be an advantage.
