Visitor Services and Operations Officer, Market Hall Museum, Warwickshire County Council
Fixed Term Contract to cover Maternity until April 2020 (with the potential to extend) 22.2 hours a week worked over 3-4 days (Tuesday - Friday)
We are looking to recruit a dynamic Customer Service Manager to oversee the management of Visitor Services and Operations at Market Hall Museum, Warwick.
The Market Hall Museum stands in the heart of historic Warwick. Re-opened in February 2017 following a redevelopment using a GBP 1million grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund. The extensive refurbishment of Market Hall Museum included internal building refurbishment, exhibition re-display, family-friendly interactives and activities, and the creation of a new retail and café space located at the entrance to the Museum. Part of Heritage & Culture Warwickshire, the Museum hosts regular events and activities, talks and sleepovers - alongside the permanent display of Warwickshire's extensive museum collection.
Responsible for the management of Visitor Services and Operations at Market Hall Museum, this role will include the day to day management of the Museum's busy café and shop, whilst maintaining health and safety requirements at all HCW sites.
Key Requirements
We are looking for a candidate with a retail, catering or visitor services management background who will ensure the continuation of high quality visitor services within the Museum. You will have the confidence to lead from the front in sales, standards and service, to promote service excellence in our public service provision and deliver challenging income targets. This role will involve the direct line management of a small team of Visitor Services Assistants and Operations staff, support our team of hard working volunteers, whilst working within the wider Heritage & Culture Warwickshire team to deliver our service plan objectives.
