About us and the role
The Road Safety Education Team are looking for two candidates who are vibrant and innovative to develop and deliver an exciting new package of Travel Plans as part of Safe & Active Travel in Warwickshire.
The Safe & Active Travel Officer will be responsible for engaging with workplaces and schools to promote Warwickshire’s Safe & Active Travel Plan programme that provides credible alternatives to the car on essential journeys. Assisting with the co-ordination, development, implementation and monitoring of sustainable Travel Plans, this role is in line with relevant Warwickshire County Council policies to achieve Climate Change action.
The role will champion sustainable travel initiatives, ensuring tenacious engagements and delivery of Travel Planning, innovation and excellent communication, applying these skills to deliver a wide range of sustainability-led and road safety projects in workplaces and schools.
The role will be to support major employers and schools in Areas of Air Quality Management and beyond to develop workplace travel plans and staff, parents and children sustainable travel options.
We need you to help us develop a Travel Plan programme and deliver a range of creative sustainable transport options, including walking and cycling and supporting active travel during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The successful candidate will be homeworking and be able to travel throughout Warwickshire, so a current driving licence is required for this role.?
Educated to degree level you will be able to present, influence and communicate effectively at all levels with a range of internal or external colleagues, elected members and businesses, working as a part of a multi-disciplinary team. This role requires someone highly motivated and organised, who will be able shape the role and use their own initiative and wide experience of Travel Plans.
