An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Client Team Leader to lead the highway maintenance service covering the North Warwickshire area of the county, based at the Coleshill Depot. Warwickshire is really proud of its Highways team and their passion, commitment and all the hard work that goes into getting the highest possible rating for our highways service. With continuing investment into Warwickshire’s highway network, we aim to ensure that our roads and footpaths are fit for future generations and continue to score highly in national surveys.
County Highway’s Client Team is charged with the routine maintenance of the highway network in Warwickshire as well as dealing with all enquiries from the public and other stakeholders, licencing and legal enforcement of the Highways Act 1980, winter maintenance activities, Councillor delegated budget schemes and contributing to forward programmes of larger structural maintenance works.
Dealing with all aspects of highway maintenance you will apply sound highway engineering knowledge and judgement to manage a multi-disciplinary team with direct responsibility for up to 6 staff. You will have the ability to directly affect the quality of highways across your area and ensure all statutory and legal obligations are discharged. You will also have the ability to respond effectively to a wide variety of stakeholder and public service enquiries. You will have a clear working knowledge of the Highways Act 1980 and will be expected to participate on the Winter Maintenance Decision Manager rota.
Your role involves managing an agile team and you will enable decision making which will positively influence performance and value for money within the service whilst maintaining a strong customer focus. Responsible for the effective maintenance and safety of an area of approximately 130 square miles, you will be flexible and motivated and be able to communicate well at all levels.
