With over 1200 acres of country parks and greenways, Warwickshire welcomes around one million visitors to these sites every year. A recent review of the service, along with the implementation of a revised staffing structure, has identified some exciting opportunities to build on the great offer that our parks present. We are looking for ambitious candidates who want to develop their career and make their mark in Warwickshire, and we have a number of roles available, including two new management posts; a Strategic and Commercial Manager and an Operations Manager.
Working alongside the Strategic & Commercial Manager, the Operations Manager will play an active lead role in delivering our Council outcomes from these key natural capital assets.
You will lead and motivate a team focusing on the day-to-day operations of our five parks and three greenways, supporting Senior Rangers to manage their staff as well as three Specialist Rangers covering our key habitats.
You will lead on health and safety to ensure visitors and staff are safe at all times. You will also oversee the management of the sites themselves to make sure they are fit for purpose and deliver great customer experiences. You will ensure your delivery team work cohesively with the strategic and commercial team to get the most out of our green spaces.
You will have experience in country parks or similar services, as well as experience in managing large shift-based teams at the forefront of public service provision. You will have a good understanding of delivering public health and education outcomes through natural capital assets, as well as how good monitoring frameworks and practices create effective quality and performance management.
