About Us: We are the Financial Assessment & Benefits Advice team, normally based in Kings House, Bedworth. This is a busy team undertaking financial assessments to calculate charges for customers receiving care services following council policies and Government guidance. In addition, we provide welfare benefits advice and information to customers, helping them to maximise their income and be aware of help available
About The Role: We are looking for a Finance Assistant to join us.You will be part of a busy team completing financial assessments to calculate charges for customers receiving care services and providing benefits advice to maximise customer income.The role involves providing administrative support to the team, ensuring appointments are arranged, customer financial details are collected, and care charges are calculated correctly based on Government guidance, regulations, and Council policies. You will be dealing with telephone enquiries, writing to customers, organising workloads as well as providing advice and information.
Key Requirements: As you will be working with a variety of stakeholders, it is important you have strong analytical and communication skills, both written and verbal. You need to be able to work on your own initiative as well as collaboratively with customers, families, colleagues, and other representatives.
You will have the ability to work to deadlines, sometimes under pressure, whilst always maintaining your composure and your professional manner. You will be used to making decisions, obtaining information from customers, and giving consistent and clear information. Experience using computer systems to input and obtain information is essential as well as experience using, and knowledge of word processing software and spreadsheets.
