Senior Accountant – Operational
Salary: £40,876.00 - £42,821 per annum plus LG Pension Scheme
1 x Full Time (37 hrs per week) - Permanent Flexible Working
1 x Full Time (37 hrs per week) - Fixed term for approx. 12 months to cover maternity leave
We are recruiting to the following brand-new role in our Operational Finance Delivery Team: Senior Accountant – Operational Delivery currently supporting the Communities & Resources Directorates
The Role
This role is part of a dynamic team which provides high quality financial advice and support to senior managers and cost centre managers in relation to their financial responsibilities, both revenue and capital, ensuring that appropriate challenge and assurance are provided by the finance service.
Leading a team of up to six Accountants, Senior Finance Officers and Finance Officers, the role also supports the County Council's financial framework processes by providing service financial information to enable the preparation of medium term financial plans, annual budgets, monthly budget monitoring and year end closedown, adding value to service decision making and business planning processes.
As well as monitoring and forecasting, budget setting and planning, year-end processes and reporting, the team is involved in procurement and the evaluation of financial tenders, the financial implications in reports to councillors and managers, and the financial aspects of business cases including costing and option appraisals.
Your Skills
We are looking for a CCAB qualified professional with a minimum of 3 years’ experience at a senior level in a finance environment who can:
