Job description
Case Conference Secretary - The Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) Service
The Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) Service is responsible for overseeing the investigations of allegations against people who work with children. The LADO's provide advice to employers across Warwickshire. The LADO service is an important function within
Inter Agency Safeguarding Children.
As a LADO Secretary you will be responsible for taking the minutes for Position of Trust meetings held by the LADO to oversee investigations into allegations.
You will attend meetings which may be in other parts of the county, prepare, type and distribute these confidential minutes and undertake other administrative duties. As a point of contact for callers to the department, you will be dealing with queries and will provide cover for the LADO Support Officer when necessary.
Key Requirements
With strong and accurate literacy, numeracy and administrative skills it is important you have good communication and can plan and organise your time effectively. Experience of working within a team and on your own initiative, you will be resilient, used to handling confidential information with tact and discretion and have good IT skills. In addition, you will have the ability to analyse and interpret information to solve straightforward queries. It is advantageous if you have experience of taking the minutes of Child Protection related meetings and have an awareness of Safeguarding procedures relating to legal terminology.
