Contract Management Engineer
About Us
Warwickshire's success in attracting economic development is driving a substantial programme of transport infrastructure improvements. Design Services is the County Council's professional civil engineering consultancy responsible for delivering a growing workload of highway improvement schemes funded by the County Council and partner agencies and developers.
The expansion of our business has caused us to significantly increase in size which has led to this opportunity for the role of a Contract Management Engineer working in the S278 Section of Design Services.
The S278 Section has a large portfolio of Developer-led schemes, and is responsible for technical approval, procurement of contractors and supervision of these schemes.
About The Role
We are looking for an experienced Contract Management Engineer to join our busy group of S278 Engineers. The job will involve dealing with all aspects of contract management, from advising on scheme delivery at an early stage through to providing commercial scrutiny of schemes during the construction phase, and acting as the lead officer for all contractual matter relating to our Highway Construction Framework Contract.
Key Requirements
You will be an experienced Engineer with a thorough understanding of the NEC3 or NEC4 Engineering and Construction contract terms and conditions.
You will have proven track record of identifying actions and solutions to contractual and associated commercial problems
You will have substantial experience of monitoring and managing costs on a large portfolio of construction projects
You will have experience of implementing prescribed governance arrangements.
In addition to strong people and communication skills, you will be expected to manage the expectation of County Council clients and stakeholders in relation to commercial issues
