The Role
To enable us to respond more effectively to the growing demand for AMHP assessments in Warwickshire we have created a new Team Leader post with specific responsibility for managing and co-coordinating the work of our day time AMHP Service from Monday to Friday.The normal hours of working will be 9-5. All requests for AMHP assessments are currently channelled through our AMHP Hub in Rugby, and it is expected that the AMHP Team Leader will be primarily (although not exclusively) based at this site. We are,however, reviewing the function and location of our Hub, so this could change in the future.

Key Requirements
The successful applicant will use their knowledge, skills and experience to triage referrals,allocate work, and guide and support AMHPs in undertaking their duties. He or she will contribute to the development of AMHPs through offering group supervision and working with Operations Managers to lead the AMHP Forum. The post-holder will have excellent communication and relationship-building skills,to work effectively with colleagues in the Out of Hours AMHP Service, the community mental health teams, bed managers, the police, and a variety of agencies.
We are looking for a practising AMHP with at least two years' post-qualifying experience who has energy, drive, sound judgement and an ability to demonstrate practice leadership.If you have a commitment to improving the quality of AMHP services, and to enhancing the experience of people who come into contact with the Mental Health Act we would welcome an application from you.
