Warwickshire Children and Families Service are becoming restorative. This transformation started in 2018 and we are nearing completion of an extensive accredited training programme to managers and practitioners across our workforce. Our restorative journey has included: the development o fa new model of change to support all our staff to facilitate change with children, families and partner agencies; redesigning a restorative child protection process and the streamlining of our documents to support practitioners to have both the time and the tools to enable them to focus on relationships.
We are reviewing our policies, procedures and guidance to ensure that restorative practice is fully embedded in the services we provide. We are supported by Leeds City Council in our journey to becoming a restorative council.
We have come a long way and we are proud of what we have achieved. However, we still have a journey ahead to become a child-centred,strengths-based and solution-focused organisation which empowers people to achieve change through relationships.
