Archive Assistant - Warwick

About Us:
The County Record Office looks after Warwickshire's historic archives with documents dating back to the 12th century. Our busy public service welcomes nearly 4000 visitors per year, helping family and local historians with their research.
About the role:
This post is one of several that make up the Record Office's Public Service Team. We are looking for an archive assistant with the primary role of digitising archive material. You will be comfortable with using digital equipment and working with a variety of IT applications. Additionally one day a week will be spent on a rota basis as a receptionist and a document production assistant, which involves delivering a high quality public service.
Key requirements:
You will often be working alone in the digitisation suite, which requires time management skills.
You must have stamina to work in a very demanding environment and will have level of physical fitness to enable you lift and carry documents on a daily basis from the strong rooms around the weight of 10 kg.
You will require good communication skills and the ability to show initiative. You will need to fulfil all the essential criteria on the Person Specification.
