Warwickshire Legal Services is growing and we have opportunities for a lawyer in the following area:
Warwickshire Legal Services is a highly regarded LEXCEL accredited practice – having received this endorsement of excellence for more than 24 consecutive years – and we run a very different kind of in-house legal team.
We have the freedom to practice as a business within Warwickshire County Council, which means we generate our own income from internal teams as well as a diverse pool of public sector clients.
The positive impacts delivered through our legal work have resulted in multiple award wins over the years, including recent success at the prestigious Lawyers in Local Government awards. Now, we are looking for dynamic staff to become a part of this award-winning team and, through demonstrating real drive and commitment, help us to make Warwickshire and beyond the best it can be.
Our team is currently made up from lawyers from the public sector, private sector and home-grown talent and we would welcome applicants from a range of legal backgrounds including lawyers who are interested in a change of discipline and beginning a new career in local government.
We have pioneered a system of agile working which provides our lawyers with the opportunity to work within the office environment and remotely. Our positions are full time at 37 hours per week but we are also open to part-time working.
Few Local Authorities operate this way, and our approach gives you a unique environment to further your career working with a talented, friendly and supportive group of innovative legal professionals. Our clients are diverse and the work is stimulating and varied with the opportunity to work on challenging projects that make a meaningful difference.
Warwickshire has an ambitious agenda which focuses on developing a thriving economy; ensuring people can live safely, healthily, and happily; and creating a county with a sustainable future. This third, new priority also reflects the importance of taking concerted action on climate change. Together these priorities support the Council’s ambition to make Warwickshire the best it can be, sustainable now and for future generations.
On top of this, you can take advantage of the benefits that come with a non-corporate practice. You’ll see cases through to completion, enjoy a high level of responsibility and get more hands on experience while getting a better work-life balance and greater flexibility. Benefits also include:
