As the lead for economy & skills, you will have a strong understanding of the private sector and the key drivers facing the wider business community at the moment; and through the freedom and creativity this role gives, you have the opportunity to use your commercial experience and knowledge to benefit our whole community.
As a credible leader for Warwickshire, you will be expected to build strong working relationships with partners across the private and public sector to deliver one of our key objects; ‘making sure Warwickshire’s economy is vibrant and supported by the right jobs, training skills and infrastructure’

Economic Development is at the heart of the Council’s strategic priorities our focus is on targeting investment in major infrastructure and regeneration to boost social mobility and living standards. We want our county to be one that provides high quality jobs, living standards and good prospects, and supporting those who need it most.
Our Economy and Skills Team is central to achieving this ambition, and you would be responsible for leading this agenda at an exciting time when inclusive, sustainable and strong economic growth is at the top of agenda.
You will be leading a team of c. 30 individuals in a variety of roles that are based across the county, including our business centres. We are proud of our team, and their commitment and enthusiasm, plus we are one the highest scoring teams in the Council’s Employee Engagement surveys!
You will benefit from a supportive peer network, strong senior leadership with everyone, at all levels, aligned behind the goal of making ‘Warwickshire the best it can be’
